This will be our last Bulletin for the year, and therefore my last blog as Interim Managing Director. It has certainly been an eventful term and I have enjoyed getting to know more about all facets of Camden Learning and schools in more depth.

This week has been work experience week across Camden and it has been incredibly successful. We’d like to congratulate Year 12 students for successfully completing their STEAM work placements this week, gaining valuable experience with STEAM employers including– Google, Central Saint Martins, Francis Crick Institute, Camden Council and Arup. Thanks to all the staff, companies and pupils who have made this such a success.

We will be sending further information about the Hubs for next year and the sign-up process early in September along with full details of our professional development programme. If you and your staff are interested in booking this side of summer, all our CPD courses are live on the CPD booking site.

I know next week is going to be extremely hot. I would like to refer you once again to the DfE guidance and also the health advice in item two of the bulletin. It is important that you undertake your own school risk assessment and around what is safe for your school. As outlined in my email earlier today, Camden will not be advising for a blanket closure of schools but will support the decisions made by Headteachers based on the risk assessments they undertake.

Next week is the last week for three long standing members of staff, Rhian Swain, Martin Cresswell and Gill Morris. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank them for their incredible work and to wish them all the best in their retirement.

Finally, thank you for all the incredible work that you and your schools have done over the term. With one week to go I am sure you are all looking forward to the break. Have a relaxing and restful summer and I look forward to working with you all next year.
