We are looking for an experienced primary school teacher with strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation
Stage, the National Curriculum and an excellent understanding of how to support social, emotional and mental
health (SEMH) needs and reduce behaviours of concern. We work using a trauma informed approach through our
school values of belonging, determination and opportunity.

Context:
Robson House Primary Referral Unit is a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who cannot
attend mainstream school because of SEMH needs, or who have been permanently excluded from school. We work
to meet the SEMH and academic needs of highly vulnerable children, so that they are able to make accelerated
progress and be ready for their next phase. We provide a stimulating and secure learning environment and aim to
give each pupil a positive experience of school.

Role:
The Class Teacher's role is to:
• engage and motivate groups of primary-aged children with SEMH needs
• plan and teach stimulating and challenging lessons in flexible and creative ways in order to ensure that children
make good progress in their social, emotional and academic skills
• assess, plan for and monitor children’s learning needs
• collaborate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team
• provide reports on children’s attainment and progress in line with school policies
• establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, pupils, parents and carers
• perform all such other tasks as may be reasonably expected of a teacher in accordance with Teachers Pay and
Conditions and the Teacher’s Standards at all times in accordance with their duty of care towards children

• Both permanent and 1-year contracts are available
• Contracts start on 1st September 2026

• Salary Awarded: Main Scale / Upper Pay Scale (+SEN)
