This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to children who have SEMH needs in a specialist
provision based in an excellent mainstream primary school.

The Primary Reintegration Satellite (Satellite) is a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for
children who have struggled to succeed in mainstream school because of social, emotional and mental
health needs. Children attending the Satellite attend on short-term placements from their current
mainstream school. The purpose of the Satellite is to provide intensive support to meet the social,
emotional, mental health and academic needs of vulnerable children, so that they are able to re-engage
in learning and cope with the demands of a mainstream setting. We aim to provide a stimulating and
secure learning environment for pupils and to give each pupil a positive experience of school.

We are seeking an experienced teacher to work as part of this dynamic and innovative team. Within this
key role you will plan and teach stimulating and challenging lessons in flexible and creative ways in order
to engage and motivate a group of primary-aged children with social, emotional and mental health
(SEMH) needs. You will lead the Satellite team of: Satellite SEMH Inclusion Lead and Child Support
Workers.

You will be based at Rhyl Community Primary School and will work closely with specialist teachers from
the Primary Learning Support Service and collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team at Robson
House, as well as liaising with leadership and staff in mainstream schools. We are looking for a skilled
and experienced primary school practitioner, with recent experience of teaching classes in primary
mainstream or special schools and who has experience of working with children with SEMH needs.

The successful candidate will have had experience of working with pupils with SEMH in a mainstream
setting and experience of using effective strategies to support children to be successful in school. The
role will require candidates to provide individual and small group support for children both in the Satellite
and in their mainstream school. This post is subject to QTS status and the current conditions of
employment for teachers contained in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document and other
current legislation.
