The Hospital School at Great Ormond Street & UCLH is seeking a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the EYFS, KS1, and KS2 phases. In this unique educational environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring that children with complex medical needs receive high-quality, continuous, and personalized education, whether they are learning in our vibrant schoolrooms or at their bedside on the wards.
Working closely with our outstanding teaching team, you will help adapt structured learning activities to meet fluctuating health needs, prepare specialist resources, and help maintain a purposeful, supportive, and clinically safe learning environment.
What We Are Looking For;
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can bring energy, enthusiasm, and a forward-thinking approach to our setting. The successful candidate will have:
● A strong educational foundation: A minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths, and highly competent ICT skills.
● Relevant experience: Recent experience guiding and supporting children in an educational setting, ideally with an understanding of SEN and multi-agency partnerships.
● Exceptional personal qualities: The ability to be highly sensitive and empathetic to the complex needs of young people and their families facing life-limiting illnesses.
● Adaptability & Resilience: Confidence in dealing with the unexpected, the ability to take initiative, and the creativity to adapt teaching styles to the unique needs of our pupils.
