The Secondary Pedagogy Hub brings together Heads of Department, Faculty Leads and Lead Practitioners from across Camden’s secondary schools to strengthen high‑quality classroom practice through collaboration, shared enquiry and professional reflection. Led by colleagues from Parliament Hill School and supported by the The North London Alliance Research School, the Hub focuses on developing and embedding effective adaptive teaching strategies that respond to the diverse needs of learners. More than a series of meetings, the Hub creates a professional space where leaders can observe one another, test ideas, analyse impact and refine their pedagogical approach—ultimately supporting more responsive, inclusive and effective teaching across departments.

The Hub is designed to deepen understanding of adaptive teaching by drawing on national evidence, including EEF frameworks and models of effective implementation. Through a structured cycle of hub meetings and peer‑to‑peer observations, participants explore the difference between differentiation and adaptive teaching, examine what strong practice looks like, and share the challenges and solutions emerging within their own subject contexts. Each phase of the year builds towards sustainable change: establishing shared definitions, trialling strategies in live classrooms, reflecting on impact, and preparing departments to disseminate new learning through INSET or team‑based professional development. By connecting subject leaders across Camden, the Secondary Pedagogy Hub nurtures a culture of professional curiosity and collective responsibility, ensuring that strong, evidence‑informed teaching continues to grow across the borough.
