Acland Burghley School is seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Design
Technology from September 2026 to join our friendly and successful staff team.
Some experience of delivering food technology would be welcomed but is not essential.

This is an excellent career opportunity for a strong classroom teacher to work in a thriving comprehensive which has inclusion at its core. You would be joining a dynamic Creative Arts and Technology team at an exciting moment for the school. Our workshops are spacious with advanced fabrication technologies and, the addition of a Food Technology room has further enhanced our curriculum. The focus on developing students’ innovation, problem-solving and hands-on practical skills as well as their own self-management ensures that they are equipped to flourish in the modern world. In addition to this, our unique partnership with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, who now have their offices and rehearsals on our site, places Creative Arts at the centre of our curriculum vision.

The successful candidate will be passionate about learning in Technology, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring that every child achieves the highest possible standards. Extra-curricular activities, including clubs and trips to galleries, are an important part of the offer. This post would be suitable for a well-qualified ECT, or a more experienced teacher looking for a different experience in a new context.
