Digital Learning Plan

Empowering every learner through digital confidence, creativity and inclusion.

Camden Learning’s Digital Learning Plan sets out our shared vision for how technology can enhance teaching, strengthen inclusion and open up new opportunities for children and young people across the borough. The plan sets out our strategic approach to supporting schools to make purposeful, sustainable and ethical use of digital tools so that every pupil can thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Our approach is rooted in equity, innovation and collaboration. We want all learners to have access to high‑quality digital experiences, and all staff to feel confident in choosing and using technology that strengthens learning—rather than adding unnecessary workload. The activities set out in the Digital Learning Plan help schools build capacity, deepen staff expertise and create coherent whole‑school strategies that make technology an enabler of excellent teaching.

Digital Leader

Digital Leaders champion effective, ethical and innovative use of technology across the school. They model best practice, support colleagues, and help shape strategic decisions about digital learning. Drawing on classroom experience, research and Camden’s wider digital networks to develop staff confidence, promote consistent approaches and help embed a culture where technology enhances teaching, improves access and supports high‑quality learning for every student. This plays a key role in sustaining momentum, driving improvement and ensuring that digital development aligns with school and borough priorities.

Case Studies

Digital Learner

A Digital Learner uses technology confidently, creatively and responsibly to support learning across the curriculum. Digital Learners can select the right tools for the task, use technology to deepen understanding, communicate effectively and collaborate with others. They demonstrate digital citizenship, evaluate information critically, and apply digital skills in ways that strengthen independence, curiosity and problem‑solving. The Digital Learning Strategy supports all pupils to become digitally fluent, adaptable and equipped for a rapidly changing world.

Digital Foundation

The Digital Foundation sets out the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours that enable every member of the school community to participate confidently in a digital world. This includes secure access to devices and platforms, strong digital hygiene and safety practices, and the core competencies needed to use technology purposefully. A strong foundation ensures that digital tools support learning, inclusion and communication, and that both staff and students can build the confidence needed to progress into more advanced digital practices.

Model AI Policy for Camden Schools

We have developed a Camden Learning model AI policy to aid schools in developing their own AI policies. We recommend that each school uses this as a starting point for discussing and developing a policy that meets their individual needs and context in this fast-moving area.
