I hope you all had a wonderful half term break and enjoyed the jubilee celebrations. If you’re anything like me, it already feels like a long time ago!

You will all know that the local government elections took place recently, and as many of you already know Cllr Angela Mason stepped down as a Camden councillor before the election.

At the first Full Council meeting following the recent Local Government Elections, Camden Council Leader Cllr Georgia Gould announced her new Cabinet which has several changes, including a new Cabinet Member for Best Start for Children and Families and a new Cabinet Member for Young People and Culture: Leader confirms new Cabinet appointments (camden.gov.uk)

The new cabinet member for Best Start for Children and Families is Cllr Marcus Boyland. We look forward to working with Cllr Boyland.

You may have also seen articles this week on various news sites regarding the increasing number of fines for non-attendance. These articles show the complexity and varying reasons why pupils struggle to maintain high level of attendance. It reinforces why we need for everyone in Camden to focus on increased attendance, and the positive outcomes increased attendance can bring. We will review the findings of our attendance pilot work at the end of this term and use the learning to adapt the programme as needed going forward.

On a lighter note, this shows just how much fun children can have on a school trip!
