Music Service

Making music develops confidence, communication skills, resilience and creativity. It contributes to well-being, and enriches children’s lives. We want every child in Camden to be able to engage with meaningful musical activities in or out of school, working at the peak of their ability, with focus and enjoyment.

Camden’s Music Service delivers projects, including the biennial Schools’ Music Festival at the Royal Albert Hall, which celebrate children’s achievements, and enable classroom teachers to extend their own practice by participation and observation. It offers free instrumental lessons to all primary schools, a strong peer network for teachers, and advice and support to all schools as and when required – a bespoke service for each school.

There is further information for parents about instrumental lessons in schools, as well as music groups, on the Camden Council website.
