Yesterday marked a proud moment for Camden’s Year 13 students as they received their A-level and vocational results. Across the borough, young people are celebrating the culmination of years of hard work, with results that reflect both academic excellence and personal resilience.

This year, Camden recorded an average point score of 35.4 per A-level entry—an increase from last year’s 34.5. 97.6% percent of students achieved at least two A-levels at grades A* to E, matching the national average and highlighting the strength of Camden’s post-16 education. The vocational results also showed an improvement on 2024 figures, with average point score per entry being 29.7 which can be expressed as a Merit+.

Individual success stories

Among the many success stories across Camden’s schools is William Ellis School and LaSWAP student Alec Imamovic, 17, a talented pianist, who has a place at the world-famous Royal College of Music in London to study composition after receiving an A* in his music A-level and As in maths and music technology. Alec joined William Ellis through the school’s specialist music places scheme.

La Sainte Union Catholic School and LaSWAP student An Thien Pham, 18, gained A*s in her maths and further maths A-levels and an A in computer science. She’s off to the University of Warwick to study computer science.

Also celebrating was Maisy Zagar, 18, who is off to Oxford University to study politics, philosophy and economics (PPE) after gaining two A*s and an A in her A-levels.  Maisy attended Parliament Hill School before starting at the sixth form consortium LaSWAP.

Another high achiever is Acland Burghley School and LaSWAP student Ella Latter, 18, who was celebrating getting three As in her history, politics and photography A-levels. She’s off to Bristol University to study history.

At Hampstead School, Dean Duckling achieved two A*s in his maths and geography A-levels and two As in further maths and history. He’s heading to Bath University to study maths. Fellow Hampstead School A-level student Sofia Popikova achieved two A*s in finance and geography and two As in maths and politics. She is off to study economics at Stockholm School of Economics.

At Regent High School, Rosh Aso-Rashid achieved an impressive two A*s in maths and physics and an A in chemistry. Rosh is off to the University of St Andrews, in Scotland, to study medicine and has been awarded a £4,400 annual scholarship for the duration of his degree.

Looking ahead

The achievements of Camden’s students this year reflect not only academic success but also the determination and adaptability they’ve shown throughout their studies. As they move on to university, apprenticeships, and employment, we wish them every success in the next chapter of their journey.

Congratulations to all students, educators, and families across Camden.
