Camden Learning works alongside schools to promote positive behaviour, reduce suspensions and exclusions, and ensure that all children, especially those facing challenge, receive the right support at the right time.
Our School Inclusion Work supports leaders to create safe, supportive and nurturing environments where children can learn, feel valued and remain engaged in their education. We provide both strategic guidance and hands‑on, practical support informed by Camden’s experience, expertise and local context.
Exclusions and Suspensions
Our aim is to work collaboratively with schools to reduce the need for suspensions and exclusions, strengthen early intervention and promote inclusive approaches that keep pupils in school.

Specialist Analysis & Insight
We offer detailed analysis of exclusion/suspension trends to help schools understand patterns, identify risks and target support where it is most needed. This includes:
- Termly borough‑wide trend analysis
- School‑level reviews
- Identification of vulnerable groups and repeat patterns
- Guidance on addressing underlying causes
Direct Support for Schools
Our team works closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams and governors to:
- Review and strengthen behaviour policies
- Provide guidance on alternatives to exclusion
- Improve behaviour systems and response pathways
- Develop reintegration plans following suspension
- Share models of best practice across Camden schools
One‑Day Behaviour and Culture Reviews
We offer independent whole‑school reviews focusing on:
- Behaviour, culture and expectations
- Consistency of practice
- Early intervention strategies
- Inclusion pathways for vulnerable learners
These reviews provide clear recommendations that help schools build stronger, more equitable behaviour systems.
Behaviour Support and Inclusion
Camden Learning supports schools to embed a whole‑school behaviour culture that is inclusive, relational and aligned with safeguarding, SEND and curriculum needs.
Our support includes:
Training and Professional Development
- Understanding behaviour as communication
- Trauma‑informed and attachment‑aware practice
- De‑escalation and restorative approaches
- SEN needs and reasonable adjustments
- Behaviour leadership training for senior and middle leaders
Team Around the School (TAS) Inclusion Support
A multi‑agency approach bringing together:
- School inclusion leads
- School Inclusion Support Officers (SISOs)
- Educational psychologists
- SEND professionals
- Camden early help and social care partners
TAS provides casework discussion, advice, risk‑reduction planning and targeted intervention for pupils with emerging or escalating needs.
Medical Needs & Alternative Provision
The Inclusion Team also oversees access to alternative provision for children who are unable to attend school due to medical needs.
This includes:
- Liaison with schools, health professionals and families
- Support with medical evidence and planning
- Securing appropriate short‑term or longer‑term provision
- Ensuring continuity of education and smooth reintegration
- Monitoring progress, attendance and safeguarding while in alternative provision
We work to ensure children with medical needs remain connected to education, safeguarding and wellbeing support at every stage.
