Deciding what path young people should take after their GCSEs can be a daunting prospect, both for them and for their families. This is why Camden Learning developed the Camden Next Steps Post-16 Online Prospectus, which we first launched last October.

This innovative online prospectus breaks down Camden’s post-16 landscape in a way that is clear, practical and easy to navigate, helping teenagers to make confident, informed decisions about what they do next.

The Post-16 Next Steps website gives suggestions and guidance on the wide range of options that Camden’s ten secondary schools and post-16 providers offer. Whether students are considering A-levels, T Levels, apprenticeships, or other pathways, the tool outlines what each option involves.

It is interactive and gives students, parents, carers and advisers the option to explore three different pathways that play to their learning preferences:

  • In a classroom with teachers and other students
  • By doing practical, hands-on work
  • By getting straight into real work or by helping out

This online prospectus for Camden is an incredibly useful tool, whether for students thinking about options after Year 11, parents looking to support their child, or professionals guiding and advising young people.

Stephen Hall, CEO of Camden Learning, says:

There is so much choice available to young people as they consider what they want to do after their GCSEs. It can be daunting, so we want every pupil in Camden to feel confident about taking that next step.

The Post 16 Next Steps website brings together a wide range of opportunities in one accessible resource, giving young people the chance to explore what’s available and discover the options that best match their ambitions and interests.

This is in line with the commitment set out in our education strategy, Building Back Stronger, to ensure that all Camden young people leave education or training with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them succeed in work or further education and training.

We hope this guide will encourage them to look ahead, explore their choices and feel excited about their next steps.
