The AI Connect program at the London AI Campus hosted its end-of-unit Presentations of Learning event this week, where students showcased their impressive work on robotics from the past term.
This event provided a unique opportunity for guests to gain insight into the innovative projects happening at the AI Campus and for students to share their learning experiences with an external audience.
Student experiences
Alejandro and Andreea from Maria Fidelis School were among the students who shared their experiences. Alejandro highlighted his enjoyment of the “Build a Brain” project, describing it as a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. Andreea appreciated the diverse learning opportunities, including JavaScript and atomic structures. Both students emphasised the value of learning about various careers from their mentors, which broadened their understanding of the skills needed in different fields. Alejandro even described the AI Connect course as “one of the best opportunities in all of London!”
Mentor insights
Mentors also shared their rewarding experiences of guiding AI Connect students. They supported students with various learning challenges and questions, finding the mentoring process fulfilling and impactful.
UCL Build a Brain team
The UCL Build a Brain team, who played a significant role in the program, spoke about the uniqueness of the project. They highlighted how it supports Camden students in learning about AI and robotics, and expressed their enjoyment of the sessions with the AI Connect students.
Parents’ feedback
Parents of AI Connect students also provided positive feedback. The dad of Hajra and Saira from Hampstead School praised the course for offering practical skills and boosting self-confidence. He noted that the Campus provided more expansive activities compared to home, which he found “really wonderful.” The mum of Billy from Parliament Hill School remarked on how much Billy loved the sessions and enjoyed his time at the Campus, describing the experience as “amazing” and “fun.”
The AI Connect Presentations of Learning event was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible achievements of our first cohort of students at the London AI Campus and the positive impact of the program. From gaining practical skills and career insights to building self-confidence and enjoying the learning process, the AI Connect program has proven to be an invaluable experience for students, mentors, and parents alike.
